Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a potential candidate country following the Decision of the Thessaloniki European Council of June 2003. The Stabilization and Association Agreement was ratified in 2015. In the year 2016, Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted its application to join the EU.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently revising its 2013 national climate change adaptation and low emission development strategy covering 2013-2025, which is consistent with the EU 2030 framework on climate and energy policies. Its implementation and integration into all relevant sectors should be a priority. Bosnia and Herzegovina is working on a national adaptation plan (NAP) which will identify the necessary resources and set timelines for implementing climate change-related policies and strategies.
The level of alignment with the EU acquis has to be further elaborated.
