TAIEX TRATOLOW Regional Workshop on synergies between climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction
at regional level and cross-border cooperation
Webinar
27 & 28 September 2021
The overall objective of the workshop was to support policy makers and technical officials in the Western Balkans and Türkiye in adaptation policy making by setting the scene and conveying available knowledge and approaches. As an integral part of addressing the adverse impacts of climate change through medium and long-term National Adaptation Plans (NAP), a focus was on the relevance of disaster risk reduction and natural hazard management at the transnational scale.
The aim of the workshop was to support and strengthen the synergies between climate change adaptation (CCA) and disaster risk reduction (DRR). It took into account increased needs related to regional cooperation in specific fields such as water management, especially cross-border flood risk management and river basin management, as well as cross-border neutral hazard management.
