On 15 May 2024, TRATOLOW organised a Regional workshop on Adaptation Reporting under the Energy Union Governance Regulation jointly together with the European Environment Agency. Within the workshop the TRATOLOW beneficiaries were informed about the reporting requirements on adaptation, combining the theory, purpose and tools with practical examples and experiences from EU Member States as well as EEA members.
The theoretical part focused on the reporting requirements based on Energy Union Governance Regulation, which was supported by Adaptation Support Tool (AST) and the new Guidelines on Member States' adaptation strategies and plans. Greece shared their experience from an EU Member State perspective on reporting requirements with their lessons learned from GovReg adaptation reporting and what their next steps are. The first experiences from adaptation reporting from Albania was presented as well as the challenges so far were shared with other TRATOLOW beneficiaries.
The workshop was then complemented with a group discussion focusing on the following guiding questions:
- What is already available to be used for reporting?
- Who can contribute to which part of this reporting?
- What is still missing in order to fully report the requested information?
Participants took away a positive perspective on how to strengthen their efforts towards structuring and preparing for as well as building up the reporting capacity for adaptation to climate change.
