TAIEX TRATOLOW Regional workshop on development of low emissions and climate neutral pathways

The main objective of the online workshop was to evaluate regional capacity for the elaboration of low emission development strategies as well as support in the execution of priority measures under the long-term strategy and its action plan if applicable to the countries. The one-day session took place virtually via Zoom on April 1, 2022
Furthermore, the workshop introduced the participants to the LTS-LEDS concept and the environmentally sound, sustainability focused, long-term planning, as the development of LTS-LEDS entails an inclusive process, ensuring ownership and involvement of all relevant stakeholders across key sectors of the economy.
In addition, EU Member States presented their experience with developing such strategies, explaining open questions and challenges as well as possible future changes in the governance framework in order to ensure implementation.
In general, the workshop also supported the need to raise awareness for climate policy, the creation of a common platform to exchange experiences and possible future actions in terms of the development of low emissions and climate neutral pathways, and the space for informal discussions.
