This one-day online session with participants from the relevant authorities of Serbia and expert presenters from their fields of competence dealt with the topic of adaptation policy cycle, capacity building and reporting requirements and took place via Zoom.
The overall goal of the workshop was to assist with efforts to improve domestic climate change resilience through adaptation planning and actions. Furthermore, awareness for the importance of climate change adaptation was risen and a common platform for the exchange of experiences was created. In addition, the workshop served as an inventory for current developments and potential future deployments of climate change adaptation policy.
The event also provided a space for informal discussion to further progress towards developing a National Adaptation Plan (NAP) as well as promoting the use of the Climate-ADAPT Adaptation Support Tool (AST), for example for strategic policy process, awareness raising, planning or development of guidelines. At the same time, the workshop highlighted and discussed how the tool can be used tailored to the real needs of users.
Further workshop objectives included: information about reporting requirements on adaptation, link of the reporting to adaptation policy development along the adaptation policy cycle, use of the Adaptation Support Tool (AST), sharing of latest information on the developments of the NAP project proposal with all participants.
