On March 6, 2023, an online TRATOLOW Regional Training on the EU Fit-for-55 package was conducted. The workshop was organized in response to Beneficiaries’ request and aimed at informing the Ministry stakeholders from Tratolow beneficiaries on the recent agreements related to the EU's goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030.
The workshop covered all 14 proposals included in the Fit-for-55-package, with most emphasis on the revision of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and the introduction of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
The workshop’s primary objective of providing Tratolow beneficiaries with the latest updates on agreements related to the implementation of the FF-55 package was achieved. However, it is important to note that some of the proposed measures are yet to be fully detailed and agreed upon. As a result, a follow-up training session is likely to be organized later this year to ensure that all the necessary information is communicated effectively.
